St Peter’s Studio is a historic 4 bedroom house, tastefully modernised located in the centre of unique St. Ives, just a minute away from Porthmeor beach and St Ives harbour. St Peter’s Studio has 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and an open plan living and dining space which leads to a fully fitted kitchen.
On your arrival St Peter’s Studio will be laid out with complimentary cake or a cream tea as well as some local treats including freshly baked local bread, local jam & Cornish butter.
St. Peter’s Studio is a historic net and sail loft, where originally Cornish fishermen used to set their nets and make their sails. Once the nets or sails were made, they would be taken down to the harbour front or Porthmeor Beach, both of which are about a minute or so walk away from the house.
Later in time the space and light meant it was an ideal studio space for the St. Ives artists, we think there was an artist’s studio here from the 1920’s onwards. In 1955 Bill Redgrave and Peter Lanyon set up the St. Peter’s Studio art school here. Here they worked with Terry Frost, and many other artists who were to become influential in the St Ives fine art environment. We have all the original documents explaining the history of this lovely Grade 2 listed house back to the 1850’s.
St Peter’s Studio is fully equipped with everything you will need to cook up a feast including a salt and pepper grinder, a gas hob and double oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, toaster and a Nespresso machine with complimentary capsules.
The open plan living space is perfect for entertaining allowing the family to all be together from every aspect of the room. The good sized dining table is adjacent to the kitchen.
On a summer’s day or evening you might like to use the bistro tables for alfresco dining in our little patio area, complete with outdoor lighting.
